Cherrywood Espresso

Cherrywood Espresso is a hole-in-the-wall espresso bar at Shop 9/70 Currie Street, tucked into the arcade just off Nambour's main street. It is a grab-and-go counter rather than a sit-down cafe, and it opens absurdly early: 5am on weekdays, which has made it the first stop of the day for Nambour's on-lead dog walkers.

The dog setup

Dogs wait with you at the footpath and arcade seating out front while you order, which suits the format: there is no indoor room to argue about. Water is often on hand, but the morning rush is real, so bring your own travel bowl. Keep the lead short in the arcade entrance, where foot traffic funnels past the counter.

Worth knowing

The offering is barista coffee, cold drinks and a small spread of grab-and-go bites, pastries and sweet treats. Weekdays run from 5am to 11:30am, weekends from 6am, and it closes mid-morning rather than mid-afternoon, so this is a breakfast-and-first-walk venue, not a lunch stop. The local Nambour business directory lists it among the town's dog-friendly cafes.

Getting there and parking

Currie Street is Nambour's main strip in the Sunshine Coast hinterland town. Free parking sits in the rear garage with a short walk through the arcade to the counter, and there is on-street parking along Currie Street itself. Nambour train station is a few minutes' walk for those arriving by rail.

Close by with the dogs

For the proper exercise after coffee, Petrie Park's dog off-leash area is a short drive away, an open space along the Petrie Creek path network where dogs can run at any hour, and the Nambour Dog Agility Park adds equipment if your dog likes a job.
