The Landing - Alkimos

The Landing is the Alkimos local: a casual coastal tavern at 10 Graceful Avenue in the Gateway shopping precinct, running from 11am into the night most days. It has publicly declared itself dog friendly and means it, with a big shaded outdoor area that makes it the obvious pub feed after a morning at the dog park or the beach.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome in the outdoor beer garden and terrace seating, on lead and close to your table; inside is off limits under the standard WA food rules. The venue asks for friendly dogs, which fits, since the space is busy and sociable rather than quiet-cornered. Water bowls usually appear in the outdoor section, but bring your own on hot days rather than counting on it. The tables have shade, which matters in an estate this new where established trees are still scarce.

The food and the crowd

This is generous pub classics territory. The chicken parmigiana and the steak sandwich get the most attention, Korean chicken and a pork belly salad cover the other end of the menu, and portion sizes are a running theme in feedback from locals. There is regular live music, which pulls a big crowd and a lot of noise. Weekday lunches are the calm window: Friday and Saturday nights and Sunday sessions fill fast, especially with a band on, so book ahead for weekends and take an edge table if your dog is noise-shy.

Getting there and parking

The tavern sits in the Gateway Alkimos complex just off Marmion Avenue, with plenty of free parking in the shared car park and level access straight into the outdoor area. From the Mitchell Freeway exit at Alkimos it is only a few minutes, and the beach end of the suburb is close enough to combine with a swim.

Close by with the dogs

Eglinton Dog Park and the fenced Kinkuna Park dog park are about five minutes up the road for a run before lunch, and the Yanchep Dog Beach is roughly ten minutes north for an off-leash swim. If you want a second dinner option, Oceans 27 covers the beachfront angle.
