The Landing - Alkimos

The Landing is the Alkimos local: a casual coastal tavern in the Gateway shopping precinct on Graceful Avenue that has publicly declared itself dog friendly and backs it up with a relaxed outdoor area. It is the busiest venue in the suburb, and the obvious pub feed after a morning at the dog park or the beach.

The dog setup. Dogs are welcome in the outdoor area, on lead and kept close to your table; inside is off limits. Water bowls are usually out in the outdoor section, but bring your own on hot days rather than counting on it. The outdoor tables have shade, which matters in an estate this new where established trees are scarce.

Good to know. The menu is generous pub classics. The chicken parmigiana and steak sandwich get the most mentions, Korean chicken and a pork belly salad cover the variety, and portion sizes are a running theme in reviews. There is regular live music, which pulls a big local crowd.

Getting there. The tavern is at 10 Graceful Avenue in the Gateway Alkimos shopping complex, with plenty of free parking in the shared car park and level access straight into the outdoor area.

Nearby with the dogs. Eglinton Dog Park and the fenced Kinkuna Park dog park are about five minutes up the road, Yanchep Dog Beach is roughly ten minutes north for an off-leash swim, and Oceans 27 covers the beachfront dinner option.

Weekday lunches are the calm window; Friday and Saturday nights and Sunday sessions fill fast, especially with a band on. Book ahead for weekends and mention the dog so they seat you outside.
