Santorini Cafe and Restaurant

Santorini Cafe and Restaurant is a bright, Mediterranean-leaning breakfast and lunch spot at 1 Santorini Promenade in the newer part of Alkimos, and it has quickly become the local big-breakfast venue. Dogs are welcome in the outdoor alfresco area, so the coffee run and the dog walk stack neatly together.

The dog setup

Well-behaved dogs sit with you in the alfresco seating out the front; indoors is off limits. Staff have a welcoming reputation with dogs and commonly put water out, but pack your own bowl to be safe on hot Perth mornings. The venue is still new, so confirm the alfresco setup with staff when you order rather than assuming the arrangement has stayed the same.

Worth knowing

The breakfasts are the draw: eggs benedict, French toast, smashed avo, hash browns and a brekkie burger, with a steak sandwich holding up the lunch end and a cabinet of sweet and savoury pastries. There is a kids play area too, so weekend mornings bring a family crowd. Hours run from 7am daily with the kitchen closing around 1pm, so it is a breakfast-and-early-lunch venue rather than an afternoon one.

Getting there and parking

Street parking runs along Santorini Promenade and the surrounding residential streets. The fenced Kinkuna Park dog park and Eglinton Dog Park are a short drive north for an off-lead run first, and Yanchep Dog Beach is about ten minutes up the coast if you want sand and water in the morning. Kwik Koffee covers the drive-thru days when the dog is not getting out of the car.
