Oceans 27 is the Alkimos beachfront restaurant, sitting at 27 Portside Promenade with the Indian Ocean and the rusting SS Alkimos shipwreck in view from the outdoor tables. Dogs are welcome in the outdoor areas, including the lawn, which makes it one of the few places on this stretch of coast where you can do a sunset dinner with the dog at your feet.

The dog setup. Dogs stay outside, on the lawn and at the umbrella-shaded tables; the indoor dining room is off limits. Diners report friendly staff and water bowls on hand, but bring your own bowl in summer rather than relying on it, and keep the lead on, as the outdoor area sits right on a public promenade.

Good to know. Seafood is the draw. The shared seafood platter, calamari and fish and chips lead the menu mentions, and sunset cocktails are the other reason people book. There is live music on some evenings, and it runs breakfast through dinner, so it works as a post-walk coffee stop as much as a dinner venue.

Getting there. Street parking runs along Portside Promenade and the surrounding streets, and access from the beachside path to the outdoor seating is flat and easy. Expect the closest bays to fill around sunset in summer.

Nearby with the dogs. The beach is directly in front for an on-lead walk, but check City of Wanneroo signage before unclipping, as off-leash zones on this coast are specific marked sections. The nearest dedicated dog beach is Yanchep Dog Beach, about ten minutes north, and The Landing handles the pub-lunch alternative a few minutes inland.

Ask for a lawn table at sunset. You get the shipwreck view and the dog gets grass instead of hot decking.

Sunset is the premium slot and the outdoor tables go first, so book ahead and flag the dog when you do. Weekday breakfasts and early lunches are the quiet bets, when the lawn is mostly yours.
