Waikiki Dog park

Waikiki Dog Park is a secure, fully fenced off-leash facility at the corner of Chalmers Avenue and Charthouse Road, on the high ground of Seahaven Reserve. Its draw is the dual-zone design: a dedicated small dog area and a separate all-dog area, so you can match the space to your dog's size and confidence.

The dog setup

Off-leash does not mean unmanaged here. Dogs must stay under effective voice control even inside the fencing, owners must remain in the park with their dogs, and any dog showing aggression gets removed immediately. Work the double-gate entry properly: leash off only once you are both inside and the inner gate is shut, and be careful when people come and go so nothing slips out. Bags and bins are provided for clean-up.

The vibe

Both zones mix grassed areas with mulched timber and give dogs proper things to do: a raised platform for the castle-climbers, a tunnel hideout with pipes, and a sand pile for committed diggers. Dog-suitable water fountains are on site, and covered seating with shade lets you watch comfortably. The separate yards mean boisterous and timid dogs are not forced to share a fence line, which is why small or anxious dogs do particularly well here.

Getting there and parking

The park is at 2 Chalmers Avenue, Waikiki, with street parking along Chalmers Avenue and near Charthouse Road. By car, come in via Read Street or Malibu Road and turn into Charthouse Road. On public transport, it is a 15 to 20 minute walk or short bus ride from Warnbro Station on the Mandurah line. Being on high ground, the park never sees tides, which matters if you plan to head to the coast afterwards.

Make a day of it

Follow the park with an off-leash swim at Warnbro Dog Beach, coffee at Bean at the Beach, or a meal in the beer garden of The Warnbro Tavern. Rockingham Fenced Dog Park is the region's other enclosed option. Peak crowds hit Sunday mornings and Saturday mornings; Monday and Tuesday afternoons and evenings are the calmer windows if your dog prefers space.
