What visitors mention
A fully fenced, council-run off-leash park on the corner of George Main Road and Oval Park Road, next to the Victor Harbor Recreation Centre. The draw is simple: 8,350 square metres of secure grass, split into separate large-dog and small-dog yards, open around the clock.
The rules. Both yards are fenced and off-leash inside the boundary, but your dog still needs to be under voice control and supervised the whole time. Use the small-dog side if your dog is timid or under about 10kg. Pick up after your dog with the bags provided and bin them at the stations on site.
What's there. Two dog water stations, waste-bag dispensers and bins, an open training and exercise area with some agility fixtures, plus shade from grassed mounds and a shelter. Seating is available if you are settling in for a while.
Getting there. Parking is straightforward, with ample spaces at the adjoining Recreation Centre car park off George Main Road. It is an easy approach by car and walkable from nearby Encounter Bay and Hayborough streets.

Quietest mid-morning on a weekday; busiest on weekend mornings and weekday late afternoons once school and work let out. Bring your own water in summer in case the stations are dry, and good for nervous dogs who need a fenced space away from the open foreshore.
