Sista's Açaí and Coffee

Sistas Acai and Coffee is a walk-up van parked on the Kent Reserve foreshore at Victor Harbor, serving organic acai bowls and locally roasted coffee mostly on weekend mornings. With no fixed seating and the whole grassy reserve around you, it is about as simple as a dog stop gets: order at the window and claim a patch of lawn.

The dog setup

Everything happens outdoors, so your dog stays with you the whole time. Kent Reserve itself is an on-lead reserve, and the City of Victor Harbor requires dogs on a lead of no more than two metres in public reserves, which the council enforces here given the playground and picnic traffic. Bring your own water bowl, because a van setup will not always have one out.

Worth knowing

The bowls are the draw: thick blended organic acai layered with fresh seasonal fruit, granola and toppings, backed by barista coffee and rotating specials like the iced pistachio latte. Hours are limited and variable. The usual pattern is Saturday from 8am to about 12:30pm, sometimes at the Victor Farmers Market instead of the reserve, and Sunday roughly 7:30am to 1pm at Kent Reserve. Weekdays the van is closed. Because the van does shift for markets and events, check their Instagram or Facebook before driving over.

The reserve connects straight onto the foreshore path, and the beach stretch from The Bluff towards Chiton Rocks allows off-lead exercise under effective control, subject to the council's seasonal time rules. If you want a guaranteed run, Victor Harbor Fenced Dog Park offers secure fencing around the clock. For a proper sit-down breakfast afterwards, Qahwa Coffee Roasters and the Yilki Store both take dogs in outdoor areas.
