What visitors mention
Yilki Store is a casual beachside kiosk on Franklin Parade in Encounter Bay, right across the road from the water, and dogs are welcome at the outdoor tables while you queue for chips and a coffee.
The dog setup. Dogs are fine at the outside, ocean-view tables. There's enough space to tie up or tuck a lead around a chair leg without blocking the footpath. Staff are used to dogs coming through and will usually put a water bowl out, though it pays to bring your own on a hot day.
Known for. Locals rate the hot chips, steak sandwiches, bacon and egg rolls and burgers here. It's a quick-bite, grab-and-go kind of place rather than a sit-down meal, which suits a dog walk stop.
Getting there. Free street parking runs along Franklin Parade right outside. A paved walking path follows the coast directly in front of the store, and Yilki Beach is a short stroll away for a walk before or after.
Best treated as a walk-and-refuel stop: grab chips, sit outside, then carry on along the coast path or down to the beach while the day is still cool.
