Frascott Park Fenced Dog Park

Frascott Park is the standout fenced dog park in Varsity Lakes, set inside a much larger suburban park at 44 Frascott Avenue. Two fully fenced, double-gated enclosures sit alongside playgrounds, BBQs and sports fields, which makes it a regular stop for Varsity Lakes and Robina dog owners rather than a special trip.

The dog setup

The dog area is split into two separate fully fenced zones: one for small or older dogs, and a larger section for everyone else. Both carry agility equipment such as hurdles and tunnels, with shaded seating and water taps for dogs. Off-leash time is only permitted inside the enclosures.

In the rest of the park dogs stay on lead, and they are banned outright from the playground areas, including the safari-themed playground on the other side of the park. Council rules apply as usual: carry a leash, keep control, and pick up straight away.

The vibe

It is a busy neighbourhood park, so expect a regular crew of locals at the after-work peak and on weekend mornings. The fencing is the draw for owners of flight-risk dogs, and the separate small-dog yard takes the pressure off nervous or older dogs. The surrounding park has walking paths and open grass for an on-lead warm-down. Bring your own bags; the taps are for water, and the bins sit outside the enclosures.

Pepsi: two gates between the car park and the run means you can unclip with a clear head. Mine makes straight for the tunnels.

Getting there and parking

The main car park sits off Mattocks Road with free parking at the entrance, and there is secondary access via Yodelay Street. Accessible parking spaces and entry paths are available. The car park gates operate from 6am to 8pm daily, so early starts and late evenings are out.

Close by with the dogs

If the yards are full, Robina Common and the Reedy Creek fenced dog park are both short drives away. For coffee afterwards, Wild Cherry Coffee House and Cafe on South Bay are the local picks in Varsity Lakes.
