Reedy Creek Fenced Dog Park

Reedy Creek Fenced Dog Park sits inside Tourmaline Reserve on Barden Ridge Road, a fully enclosed off-leash area with separate zones for small and large dogs, making it one of the more purpose-built options on this side of the Gold Coast.

The rules. Dogs must be on-leash entering and exiting through the double-gated entry, and off-leash only once inside the fenced area. Keep your dog under effective voice control at all times. Handlers supervising dogs must be 17 or older. Dogs are not permitted in the reserve's separate children's playground area, and owners are expected to prevent any chasing or harassment of wildlife.

What's there. The double-gated entry stops dogs slipping out while you're arriving or leaving. Inside there's shade, covered seating, water points and waste stations, though it is worth carrying spare bags in case dispensers run low. The wider Tourmaline Reserve adds picnic tables, free barbecues and a playground, so it works for a family outing as well as a dog run.

Getting there. It's just off the M1 at the Reedy Creek exit, via Old Coach Road onto Barden Ridge Road, with on-site parking. The closest train station is Robina, about ten minutes by car, and local bus routes run within reach of the reserve, though you'll likely need a short walk or rideshare for the last leg. The entrance is wheelchair accessible.

Watch-outs. This is an inland park with no tidal considerations, but the grass can turn muddy after heavy Queensland rain. Council mowing sessions occasionally close off sections, so a midday visit can occasionally mean detouring around machinery.

Nearby with the dogs. Zarraffa's Coffee Reedy Creek, a short drive away in Reedy Creek Plaza, has outdoor seating where dogs are welcome. Izakaya Midori, also in the plaza, allows dogs in its outdoor seating too.

When to go. Early morning (around 6-8am) or late afternoon (4-6pm) are busiest, when local owners beat the heat. Weekday mid-mornings are quieter if you want the space to yourselves. Good for dogs that need genuine off-leash space to run rather than just a footpath walk.
