Garasu Lodge

Garasu Lodge is a private, fenced retreat tucked into the quiet hills of Mudgeeraba, and it is one of the friendlier value propositions for dog owners on the Gold Coast hinterland: up to two house-trained dogs stay at no extra charge. It suits a relaxed, privacy-focused getaway where the dog comes inside with you, provided you work around a few firm house rules.

Two house-trained dogs are the limit, and there is no nightly pet fee, though the hosts can bill for damage or specialised cleaning after the fact. Dogs are welcome indoors but must not sleep on the beds or furniture, so bring your own bed or mat. They are also off the tennis court entirely. The property is fully fenced for security, which is a real plus, but there is no dedicated grassed dog area on site; the hosts ask guests to use the reserve across the road for toilet breaks, so build a short walk into the daily routine.

Worth knowing

For the humans there is a sauna, spa and tennis court, and the lodge has a reputation for privacy and attentive hosts. This is a best-fit for calm dogs that settle indoors and do not need a lawn to zoom around. If your dog is not reliably toilet-trained or genuinely requires an enclosed grass run of its own, other properties will suit you better.

Getting there and parking

The lodge sits on Adios Court in Mudgeeraba, surrounded by rainforest but only minutes from Robina Town Centre and the village cafes. You will need a car; parking is on site and private.

Make a day of it

The reserve across the road handles the quick toilet stops, and Hinterland Regional Park Fenced Dog Park on Hardys Road is the proper off-lead run nearby. Pepsi: dogs stay free and the fence is solid, but the lawn is across the road, so it was toilet trips at the reserve every morning. Cosy otherwise.
