Robina Common Fenced Dog Park

Robina Common is a fully fenced off-leash dog park off Ron Penhaligon Way in Robina, and the draw is the secure double-gated setup paired with a small agility course and a sandy beach edge along the water. It is a genuine fenced run rather than a marked-off corner of a reserve, which makes it a safer pick for dogs with an unreliable recall.

The dog setup

Keep your dog leashed until you are inside the fenced enclosure and clip back on before you leave, with the usual City of Gold Coast expectations on top: effective voice control at all times, picking up after your dog using the bins provided, and staying out of the adjacent children's playground entirely.

Inside there is a water tap and dog drinking fountain, basic agility equipment, picnic tables, bench seating and a good spread of natural shade. The sandy strip along the water is where dogs paddle, so expect a wet, sandy dog if you let them in.

The vibe

Quietest mid-morning on a weekday, busiest on Saturday and Sunday mornings and the weekday after-work rush. The lake edge attracts swans and ducks, so keep an eye on dogs that like to chase, and the ground turns dusty in dry spells and muddy after rain.

Max: the double gate only works if you shut the first one behind you before opening the second. Hang back at the entry until the gate is clear so an excited dog cannot bolt out past an incoming one.

Getting there and parking

Parking is in the cul-de-sac right by the entrance, a small lot that fills on weekend mornings, so you may need to wait for a spot. TransLink bus routes service Robina nearby, with stops around Arbour Crescent and Robina Parkway.

Close by with the dogs

Two more fenced grounds sit within a short drive: Robina Parkway Park in Clear Island Waters and Frascott Park in Varsity Lakes. For coffee afterwards, Kudo Bros Espresso Bar and Kitchen in Robina welcomes dogs.
