Newhaven Fenced Dog Park

Newhaven Fenced Dog Park is a small, purpose-built off-leash park inside the Newhaven estate in Tarneit, between Holstein Crescent and Keewong Road. Built as part of the estate by developer Peet, it gives Tarneit's growing dog population a secure fenced run rather than an open reserve with a sign.

The dog setup

A fully fenced enclosure wraps the whole space, with a basic set of agility equipment, a water fountain fitted with a dog bowl, and seating for owners. It is a compact park rather than a sprawling one, so it suits a social run and a training session more than a marathon fetch. Bags are yours to bring and bin.

The rules

Off lead applies inside the fence only; everywhere else in the estate, dogs are on lead. Close the gate behind you, keep your dog in sight and under control, and take an unruly dog out rather than letting it figure the park out on someone else's pet.

Max: small park, new park, very open. On a warm afternoon there is not much shade over the run, so aim for early or evening and stand near whatever tree line exists.

Getting there

The park sits in the northern part of the Newhaven estate, reached via Tarneit Road and Hummingbird Boulevard, with street parking on the surrounding residential streets. Tarneit railway station is the nearest train hub, but it is a drive or bus ride from the park rather than a walk, so check current routes before relying on public transport.
