What's there. The setting is manicured grass, trees and gardens with shaded seating for resting. Paths are wheelchair accessible. Public drinking fountains and toilets are available nearby along the Southbank Boulevard promenade rather than inside the park itself.

Getting there. The park is a short walk from St Kilda Road tram stops served by several routes, and it is easy to reach on foot from the CBD, the arts precinct and St Kilda Road offices. Street parking is very limited, so a nearby commercial garage is the safer bet if you are driving.

Nearby with the dogs. If you want a fully fenced off-leash option, the Moray Street Reserve Fenced Dog Park under the Kings Way overpass is close by. The Yarra River promenade and its dog-friendly outdoor cafes are also within easy walking distance.

When to go. Locals use it most in the early morning and again between about 5pm and 7pm. For a quieter visit with a nervous small dog, late morning or early afternoon on a weekday is the calmest window.
