Pool Park Fenced Dog Park

Pool Park Fenced Dog Park occupies a large, fully fenced field of roughly two acres at the corner of Ham Street and Cox Street in South Windsor, and it is one of only five approved off-leash areas in the whole Hawkesbury local government area. It runs as a 24-hour off-leash space, so the clock never decides your visit.

The dog setup

The perimeter is fully fenced with a double-gate entry system, and Hawkesbury City Council counts it among its fenced, doggy-bag-and-bin equipped sites. Three separate double-gate access points spread the arrivals, which helps when the park is busy. Voice control over your dog and constant supervision are the standing conditions, and cleaning up is mandatory, with bag dispensers and bins provided on site.

The vibe

Shady mature trees are spread through the field, a picnic table gives owners somewhere to settle, and a water tap plus several bowls, often left by other users, cover the hydration side. Regulars describe a friendly crowd of dogs and humans, the open layout keeps sightlines clear across the whole yard, and the newer gate hardware plus a steady stock of doggy bags come up in visitor notes as signs the park is kept on top of. There are no public toilets within the fenced reserve, so plan the visit length accordingly.

Getting there and parking

The park sits at the corner of Ham and Cox Streets in South Windsor, easy to reach from Windsor Road and Richmond Road via local streets, with parking on site. By train, Windsor Station on the T1 Western line is the closest rail stop, a short walk away.

While you are out there

Pair the run with a leashed wander along the nearby Hawkesbury riverfront, or point the car at The Second Home Cafe in Windsor and The Hills Hub Cafe in McGraths Hill, both within a few minutes of the park for the coffee leg.
