Riverbrae Off-Leash Dog Park

Riverbrae Off-Leash Dog Park on Riverbrae Avenue, listed by Blacktown City Council as Park 918, is a fully fenced park in Riverstone's north-west growth corridor with two separate zones, a paved loop path and an open field for a proper run. It is newer than most parks in the area and built to a proper spec rather than a bare paddock.

The dog setup

Two secure fenced sections let you split dogs by size or temperament, with covered seating in each, a water refill station, large waste bins and a newly laid concrete path that circles the park. The layout is generally wheelchair accessible, including the path into the enclosure. There are no public toilets on site, so plan ahead.

The rules

Off lead applies inside the signed zone only, and dogs must stay under effective control and responsive to voice the whole time. Under Blacktown council rules, declared dangerous or restricted-breed dogs are not permitted in off-leash areas at all. Bin your bags, close the gates behind you, and keep the lead handy for the walk back to the car.

Pepsi: the trees here are young, so the open field bakes in the middle of the day. Aim for the covered shelters inside the fenced zones and give the grass a miss in summer afternoons.

Getting there

Turn off Garfield Road West onto Riverbrae Avenue, coming in from Richmond Road or Windsor Road, with street parking along the avenue at the entrance. Riverstone Station is the nearest rail stop, around a five to ten minute drive or a 25 to 30 minute walk.

The Ridgeview Park Fenced Dog Park is the second fenced option in Riverstone, and the R.H.L. Sparks Reserve Dog Off Leash Area at Box Hill adds an open-style run nearby. Mungerie House at Rouse Hill is the closest established dog-friendly cafe stop, about ten minutes away.
