Ridgeview Park Fenced Dog Park on Oleander Crescent is a 24-hour off-leash park with two separate fenced zones, so you can split up a boisterous dog from a nervy one or just avoid a boisterous stranger's dog. Grass underfoot, trees for shade, and a kids' playground next door make it an easy stop for a family walk.

The rules. Dogs must be leashed on the way in and out of the fenced area, and kept under effective voice control once off-leash inside. Council asks for a maximum of four dogs per person, and dogs registered and vaccinated as normal. Remove any dog showing aggression.

What's there. Drinking water for dogs, poop bag dispensers and bins, and benches for owners. Two separate sections mean you can use one as a buffer zone if the park is busy or your dog needs space.

Getting there. Street parking runs along Oleander Crescent. Riverstone Station is the nearest train stop, but it is a couple of kilometres off, so plan on driving or a short bus ride rather than walking from the platform.

Nearby with the dogs. The Vineyard in nearby Sydney (about a kilometre off) has a pet-friendly outdoor area and water bowls, and also takes pet-friendly room bookings on request. Durk's Cafe + Eatery in Tallawong has outdoor seating that welcomes dogs.

the two fenced sections are the real feature here. If the main area is packed with off-leash chaos, duck into the second zone instead of trying to manage it.

When to go. Early mornings and late afternoons draw the crowds, especially on weekends, so a weekday midday visit is your best shot at having a section to yourselves. Bring your own bags as a backup in case the dispensers run dry.
