Connie Lowe Reserve on Adelphi Street is Rouse Hill's dedicated off-leash dog park: a fully fenced enclosure built specifically for dogs to run free, sitting alongside the suburb's playground and picnic areas. It is a busy, social park with a strong local following and the equipment to match.

The dog setup

The fenced dog area is the main drawcard: obstacle-style equipment and agility ramps for dogs to work off energy, a gazebo for shade, waste bins on site, and a concrete perimeter walkway inside the fence. The fence is standard height rather than tall, so keep an eye on serious jumpers. The adjoining playground, picnic tables and BBQs make it workable for a mixed dog-and-kids outing.

Max: check the gate latches on your way in and watch the entry point. Busy parks like this see constant turnover, and an unlatched gate is how escapes happen.

Worth knowing

Off-leash running is only permitted inside the fenced area; everywhere else in the reserve, including the playground and picnic zones, dogs stay on lead. Hills Shire Council rules apply: a competent handler aged 16 or over must be present and in control, a maximum of four dogs per person, restricted or declared dangerous breeds are excluded, and waste goes in the bins immediately.

Getting there and parking

Free off-street parking sits right next to the reserve on Adelphi Street, reached easily off Windsor Road or Rouse Hill Drive. Rouse Hill Metro station is the closest public transport option, a short walk or quick bus ride away. The reserve is open around the clock.

While you're out there

Weekend mornings and weekday late afternoons between 4pm and 7pm are the busiest windows, so if your dog is reactive, aim for a weekday mid-morning. For coffee after the park, Mungerie House and Cafe Elle are local options, and Sparks Reserve dog off-leash area at Box Hill is another nearby run.
