Armstrongs Reserve Dog Off Leash Area

Armstrongs Reserve is a long, shaded bushland corridor on Railway Parade in Seaford, running between the road and a drainage reserve. It is off-leash 24/7 and the appeal is the cover and the sniffing: native scrub and mature trees along a central path make it a pleasant, low-key walk rather than an open run.

The rules. Off-leash is permitted 24 hours, but dogs must be under effective control and return on call. Keep your dog on-leash within 10 metres of the children's play equipment and picnic areas. The corridor is not fully fenced, so take care with dogs prone to wandering toward the road. Carry bags and clean up; bins are at the west end.

What's there. Shade is the standout, with plenty of mature trees, plus a water fountain at the west end, benches along the path and a small playground near the Railway Parade entrance. There are no public toilets on site.

Getting there. Street parking is generally easy along Railway Parade, and the reserve is a short walk from Seaford Station on the Frankston line.

It is usually busiest on weekday afternoons and Saturday afternoons, and quietest on Sunday evenings and early or late on weekdays. The tree cover makes it a good warm-weather option.
