Murrowong dog park

The short version. Murrowong is a fully fenced off-leash park at Murrowong Court in Rosebud, open 24/7 with double-gated airlock entry. It's the quieter, more natural of Rosebud's fenced parks: a mix of open grass and native scrub that gives dogs real sniffing ground, and the secure gating makes it a sound choice for dogs that are runners.

The rules. Off-leash inside the fence only. Keep dogs leashed until you're through the gates, re-clip the moment you leave, and stay out of the adjacent playground. Under Mornington Peninsula Shire rules a dog must remain on-leash within 20 metres of playgrounds, BBQs and picnic areas, so mind that buffer at the edges. Clean up after your dog.

What's there. Full perimeter fencing with a secure double-gated entry, a water station with a bowl, shaded seating, and waste bins on-site. The terrain is grass and native scrub rather than a plain oval, and there's a children's playground nearby to keep clear of.

Nearby with the dogs. Rosebud's dog-welcoming cafes are roughly five minutes away, and the foreshore off-leash beach is close by, off-leash from 6pm to 10am over summer and anytime in winter.

When to go. Late afternoon and weekend mornings are the busier windows, though it stays calmer than the beach. Being dry land, it's unaffected by tides, so it's the reliable pick when foreshore off-leash hours or high water rule the beach out.
