SeaCove on the Beach

SeaCove on the Beach is a self-contained holiday apartment on Point Nepean Road in Rosebud, with a back gate that opens straight onto the Rosebud foreshore. It takes dogs by arrangement only, and only small ones, so read the policy before you book rather than hoping for flexibility at the door.

The pet-friendly option is the two-bedroom ground-floor apartment. Dogs only, up to roughly 10kg each, with a maximum of two per booking, and a pet fee of $65 per dog per stay according to the property's conditions. Dogs may be inside the apartment but not in the bedrooms or on furniture, and they are excluded from the pool and garden areas. Excessive barkers are not welcome, and management can refuse unbooked or unsuitable dogs. Confirm the weight limit, fee and current rules directly with the host when booking, and be honest about your dog's size and temperament.

Worth knowing

The apartment is set up like a proper home away from home: full kitchen, laundry, reverse-cycle air conditioning and linen provided, with a solar-heated pool for the humans and free off-street parking. The front-row position is the real selling point. It suits one or two quiet, house-trained small dogs whose people want to walk out the back gate and be on the sand in under a minute. Larger dogs and anxious barkers will struggle with the rules, and honesty about that saves everyone an awkward phone call.

Getting there and out with the dog

Rosebud sits about 90 minutes from Melbourne on the Mornington Peninsula Freeway, and the apartment is on the foreshore side of Point Nepean Road. The Rosebud Beach Dog Off Leash Area is close by with seasonal off-leash times, and Lawson Park adds a fully fenced option in town. For coffee, Zarb and Ru is on the main strip with outdoor seating.
