Kalora Park Oval Fenced Dog Park

Kalora Park Oval Fenced Dog Park gives Narre Warren North a proper dual-enclosure setup at 11 McKenzie Lane, inside the broader Kalora Park reserve that also carries sports ovals, netball courts and playgrounds. The two fenced pens, built with wire mesh and each roughly 45 by 30 metres, split by size so small and young dogs get their own space.

The rules

The northern enclosure is designated for larger dogs and the southern one for smaller or younger dogs, and each pen has its own secure gated entry. Inside the fence your dog can be off-lead, but the City of Casey code still applies: carry a leash, keep your dog under effective control, and use the bins for pick-up.

The one caveat is club use: the Berwick Obedience Dog Club operates from the pavilion here and helped fund the pens, so during scheduled training sessions access can be restricted or shared with club members. Check the club's class times before a weekend visit if you want guaranteed access.

Max: dual pens only work if people respect the split. I size my dog honestly, and if the big-dog pen is crowded I wait rather than squeezing into the small-dog side.

What's there

Each enclosure has waste bins and water containers, with an extra tap and bowl just outside the northern pen. Unshaded tables and seats sit beside the enclosures, so bring a hat in summer, and the dedicated gravel car park along McKenzie Lane puts you right at the gate.

There are no toilets at the dog park itself, though the wider reserve has pavilion facilities when sport is on. The open ovals give the pens decent elbow room for fetch, and the local crowd skews towards regulars who know their dogs, which helps with socialisation.

Getting there

The dog park is on McKenzie Lane in Narre Warren North VIC 3804, reached off Belgrave-Hallam Road, roughly 40 kilometres southeast of Melbourne. The gravel car park runs alongside the enclosures, so you are never far from the car if your dog needs an early exit.

Close by with the dogs

For a second Narre Warren North option, Fox Road Reserve Dog Off Leash Area is nearby, and Beaconsfield Fenced Dog Park is another enclosure-style run a few suburbs over. Finish at Two Dogs Laughing in Beaconsfield, a cafe that lives up to its name for dog owners.

When to go

The space is open around the clock, with weekday mornings and early evenings the calmest windows. Around club training times the pens are busiest with structured sessions, which is either a bonus if your dog needs socialisation exposure or a reason to come back later, and Saturday sport on the ovals next door adds parking pressure.
