Fox Road Reserve Dog Off Leash Area at 86 Fox Road in Narre Warren North is a bush-style reserve rather than a manicured suburban dog park: rough natural terrain, trees, and room for dogs that would rather sniff than sprint. It is open around the clock, but with no lighting, plan on daylight visits.

The dog setup

This is an off-leash area under City of Casey rules, but the boundary is only partially fenced, and there is an open entry point that leads out towards the road. That makes it a poor fit for dogs with shaky recall; use a long line or pick one of the fully fenced parks nearby instead. Standard council expectations apply, so carry a lead, keep your dog under effective voice control, and bag the waste.

Worth knowing

Facilities are minimal by design. There is no water on site, so bring your own bottle and bowl, and seating is scarce, so a camp chair is not a bad idea. The ground is unpaved and turns to mud after rain and dust in dry spells, which is part of the charm for most dogs and part of the cleanup for most owners. Check the signage at the entrance on arrival, as off-leash conditions can be updated by council.

Max: sight-check that open gap onto the road before you unclip. If your dog is a bolter, this is not the park for it.

Getting there and parking

Parking is gravel verge along Fox Road, close to the reserve entrance. If that side of the street is full, the sports ovals further along Fox Road have more space. Public transport does not really reach this pocket of Narre Warren North, so it is a drive-to spot.

For a secure run, Kalora Park Oval Fenced Dog Park is on the same street, and Akoonah Park Dog Off Leash Area in Berwick is a short drive. After a dusty session, MAD BENJI in Berwick is a coffee stop to aim for.
