Robert Booth Reserve Dog Off Leash Area

Robert Booth Reserve has a secure, triangle-shaped fenced dog enclosure in the north-west corner of the reserve, off Bess Court in Dandenong. It is the quiet option among Dandenong's dog parks: grassy, well kept, with around twenty mature trees for shade, and rarely crowded.

The dog setup

Off-leash is allowed only inside the fenced enclosure, which has a double-gated entry and roughly 80 metres a side. Anywhere else in the wider reserve your dog must be on-leash, and the playground, athletics track and sports fields nearby are out of bounds for dogs.

There is a water tap with a bowl near the entry gates and undercover shaded seating for owners. Waste bins sit at the gates, and dogs with a history of aggression should stay out of the shared off-leash space.

The vibe

It is generally peaceful, with the quietest run usually on Thursday and Friday mornings, and busier on weekend afternoons and early weekday evenings. Even with a few other dogs about, the space rarely feels crowded, which makes it a good pick for shy dogs and owners who want a calm, contained run.

For a change of scene, Dandenong Dog Park and Greaves Reserve dog off-leash area are both in the suburb, and Lightwood Road fenced dog park in Noble Park is a short drive north.
