Greaves Reserve Dog Off Leash Area

Greaves Reserve sits off Bennet Street in Dandenong, and its draw is a fully fenced, grassy off-leash enclosure with airlock gates, set inside a busy sporting reserve. If you want a secure space where a bolting dog stays put while you sort out a lead, this is the one.

The rules. Off-leash is allowed only inside the fenced enclosure. Everywhere else in the reserve, including the shared walking paths and the boundaries of the sports ovals, your dog must be on-leash. Carry a lead at all times and keep your dog under voice and visual control. Dogs declared dangerous or restricted are not permitted off-leash. Close both airlock gates behind you so nothing slips out, and pick up after your dog.

What's there. The enclosure is fully fenced with modern airlock entry gates. There are benches and some shaded shelter for owners, dog drinking bowls and taps, and public toilets, a playground and an outdoor fitness station in the wider reserve. Walking and cycling tracks run through the grounds.

Getting there. Entry is off Bennet Street with dedicated on-site parking. Yarraman Station is the closest train station, about a 900 metre walk. Bus routes 811, 812, 813, 814 and 848 run nearby.

For a quieter off-leash session, aim for mid-morning on a weekday, roughly 10am to 2pm. Good for dogs who need a secure run away from open ground.
