Lightwood Road Fenced Dog Park

This small, fully fenced off-leash park sits directly under the elevated Pakenham/Cranbourne rail line off Lightwood Road, giving dogs a secure double-gated space to run with built-in shade from the overpass above. It is a neighbourhood-scale park rather than a sprawling reserve, which suits smaller and medium dogs or anyone after a quick, manageable off-leash session.

The rules. This is a Greater Dandenong City Council off-leash area. Dogs must be at least four months old to use public off-leash areas, and owners need to carry a leash at all times and keep dogs under effective voice control. Use the double-gate airlock entry properly so nothing bolts while you are getting sorted.

What's there. The park is fully fenced with a secure double-gated entry, a water tap and communal bowl inside the enclosure, and bench seating for owners. There is no toilet block within the fenced area itself; the nearest public toilets are further into the main Ross Reserve complex nearby.

Getting there. Park in the rear car parks behind Noble Park Aquatic Centre and walk down the back path, which avoids crossing the main road. Noble Park train station on the Pakenham or Cranbourne lines is an easy walk away.

Nearby with the dogs. 3 Sons Cafe in nearby Keysborough has alfresco seating that welcomes well-behaved dogs.
