Warner Reserve Dog Off Leash Area(Springvale)

Warner Reserve on Furnew Street is a large, open sporting reserve with a designated off-leash area alongside its ovals and soccer fields, more community sports hub than dedicated dog park, so boundary awareness matters more here than at a fenced yard.

The rules. Dogs can run off-leash in the designated area but must be under effective voice control, since the reserve is largely unfenced. Leash up within about 10 metres of the playground, barbecue area or during organised sport, and keep dogs clear of active training sessions on the ovals. Pick up after your dog, dispensers are usually on site but bring your own bags as backup.

What's there. Open green space, seating areas, a playground, and sports facilities including cricket nets, soccer fields and tennis courts. On-site parking is available. Getting there. On Furnew Street, easily reached from Springvale Road. Sandown Park Station is roughly 2.5 to 3km away, so this one's more of a drive than a train trip.

Nearby with the dogs. Dog-friendly cafes with outdoor seating line Springvale Road closer to the station. Springvale Reserve Fenced Dog Park is a short drive away if you'd rather a securely fenced space.

Weekday mornings are the quietest window, before soccer training kicks off in the afternoons and evenings. Bring your own water and expect limited shade on hot days.
