Tatterson Park is a 48-hectare regional reserve in Keysborough, and the fully fenced off-leash area (often signed as Tatterson Park North) is the reason most dog owners make the trip. It is one of the better-equipped dog parks in the City of Greater Dandenong, with separate zones for large and small dogs and plenty of room to open up.
The rules. Dogs run off-leash inside the fenced enclosure but must be under effective voice control at all times. Everywhere else in the wider park, dogs must be on-leash. Clean up after your dog straight away using the bins provided, and remove any dog showing aggression. The gates are open around the clock, but the area is unlit, so daylight visits are safest.
What's there. Double-gate airlock entries give you a safe buffer at entry and exit. There are water fountains with built-in bowls, sheltered seating for owners, and a scattering of agility obstacles. The ground is well-grassed open space with scattered trees for shade.
Getting there. The address is Grevillea Street, Keysborough. A large dedicated car park sits off Grevillea Street, so parking is rarely the problem it is at smaller reserves. Nearest bus routes run along Chapel Road and Cheltenham Road, and walking tracks connect the dog park to the rest of the reserve.
Nearby with the dogs. The park's own wetland walking tracks are worth a lap on-leash before or after the off-leash session. Keysborough and the nearby Parkmore Shopping Centre have several cafes with outdoor seating for a coffee afterwards.

When to go. Weekend mornings from about 8am to 11am are the busiest and most social. Weekday evenings pick up around 4:30pm to 6pm after work. For a calmer session, aim for a weekday morning or early afternoon.
