Brodies Park (North) Fenced Dog Park

Brodies Park (North) Fenced Dog Park is a fully enclosed off leash yard inside the larger Brodies Park at 15 Dunvegan Drive, Morayfield. It is a straightforward residential park run: open green space, some shade trees and enough room for a proper game of fetch, with the fence doing the containment work that open ovals around here cannot.

The dog setup

Off leash is allowed only inside the fenced enclosure. Everywhere else in Brodies Park the leash stays on and dogs are kept out of the children's playground area of the wider park. Inside the yard there is a water station for dogs and sheltered tables where owners can sit while the dogs work through their social calendar, and accessible paths loop around the enclosure if you want a warm up lap before clipping the lead off.

Worth knowing

City of Moreton Bay rules apply across its dog parks: stay in the enclosure with your dog, keep effective voice control, leash and remove any dog showing aggression, and carry bags for the bins provided. Council guidance also asks that dogs in heat and puppies not yet fully vaccinated skip public off leash spaces. Shade from the trees is decent, but the yard still heats up through the middle of the day, so top up water in summer rather than relying on the station alone.

Pepsi: the tree shade helps but it still gets warm through the middle of the day. Bring extra water in summer rather than trusting the on-site station to be flowing.

Getting there

Take the Bruce Highway to exit 142 and follow Caboolture River Road through to Dunvegan Drive, with street parking usually available along the park frontage. Morayfield Station is the nearest train stop, about a five to ten minute drive away, so this is very much a car trip for most visitors.

When to go

The busiest windows are weekday evenings between 4pm and 6pm and weekend mornings from 7am to 9am, when the regulars run their dogs. Weekday mid mornings from about 10am to 1pm are the calm stretch, which suits a shy or anxious dog that finds a busy yard overwhelming.

Grogan Road Park Fenced Dog Park is the other fenced yard in Morayfield, Burpengary Dog Park is one suburb north, and Oakey Palms Cafe on Oakey Flat Road welcomes dogs in its open air seating for a coffee afterwards.
