North Harbour dog park

North Harbour dog park is a fully fenced, off-lead park on Denham Place in the North Harbour estate at Burpengary East, north of Brisbane. Two separate enclosures split big dogs from small, the entry is double-gated, and the sand-based surface drains well after rain, which in southeast Queensland is a genuine selling point.

The dog setup

Dogs stay on lead until you are through the double-gated airlock into the fenced zone, then run free under effective voice and visual control. Keep your dog in sight, clean up immediately (bins and bag dispensers are usually provided), and follow standard Moreton Bay local laws: dogs in heat are prohibited and any dog showing aggression goes back on the lead and out. Check the on-site council signage for current restrictions, as these can change.

Both zones have basic agility equipment with tunnels and jumps, water bowls for dogs, and shaded seating, though the shade is limited and most of the sand sits in the open, so bring water for yourself as well as the dog on hot days. A children's playground and BBQ facilities sit in the wider parklands.

The vibe

This is a young estate's social hub, popular with dog playdate groups. Weekday mornings and early afternoons are the quiet windows; expect more dogs before work, after 4pm, and on weekend mornings. The broader North Harbour parklands have walking and bike paths worth adding to the visit for a cooldown lap on the lead.

Pepsi: the double-gated entry exists for a reason. Clip the lead off inside the airlock, not before, and clip it back on before you leave if your dog treats open gates as a start gun.

Getting there and parking

Take the Bruce Highway and exit onto Deception Bay Road, following it through into the North Harbour estate to Denham Place, with free on-street parking nearby. Burpengary train station is five to ten minutes away by car, so this is a drive-to park rather than a walk-up-from-transit one.

Close by with the dogs

Burpengary Dog Park is the alternative a few minutes west, and Claverton Drive Park Fenced Dog Park adds another fenced option toward the bay. For the after-park swim, Deception Bay Dog Beach is a short drive, or grab coffee at Zesty Lemon Cafe on the way home.
