North Harbour dog park

North Harbour dog park is a fully fenced, off-leash park on Denham Place in the North Harbour estate, Burpengary East, with separate zones for big and small dogs and a sand-based surface that copes well after rain.

The rules. Dogs must stay leashed until through the double gates into the fenced off-leash zone, then can run free under voice control. Owners are expected to keep dogs in sight and clean up after them straight away. Check the on-site Moreton Bay Regional Council signage for any current restrictions, since these can change.

What's there. The fenced area has basic agility equipment, water bowls for dogs, some shaded seating (it fills up fast), a nearby children's playground, and BBQ facilities in the wider parklands. There is no public toilet block right at the park itself.

Getting there. Reachable via the Bruce Highway, exiting onto Deception Bay Road and following through into the North Harbour estate to Denham Place. Free on-street parking is available nearby. Burpengary train station is the closest, about a five to ten minute drive, so this isn't really a walk-up-from-transit spot.

Nearby with the dogs. There's no dog-friendly cafe or pub confirmed within Burpengary East itself yet, so factor in a short drive into Burpengary or Deception Bay for a coffee stop. The broader North Harbour estate has walking and bike paths through its parklands worth combining with a park visit.

Weekday mornings and early afternoons tend to be quietest; expect more dogs around before work, after 4pm, and on weekend mornings. There's no shade cover over most of the sand, so bring water for yourself as well as your dog on hot days.
