G.R. Bricker Reserve Dog Off Leash Area

G.R. Bricker Reserve on Rowans Road is a large, busy, mixed-use reserve in Moorabbin with a dedicated off-leash area. The single most important fact: only the eastern side of Rowans Road is off-leash, and the whole reserve is open 24/7.

The rules. Off-leash is the eastern side of Rowans Road, next to the Steam Locomotive Society. The sporting grounds and pavilion on the western side are on-leash only, no exceptions. Even where dogs run free they must be under effective voice control, and you must clean up straight away. Keep dogs on-lead near the playgrounds and exercise equipment. Note the Moorabbin Obedience Dog Club trains here, which changes the crowd at scheduled times.

What is there. Open green space with mature trees and shaded paths, drinking water, seating and public toilets on the reserve. Nearby playgrounds, outdoor exercise gear, basketball hoops and table tennis sit in the on-leash zone. Parking is available directly at the reserve.

Getting there. On Rowans Road, reached via South Road or the Nepean Highway, with on-site parking. Buses run along South Road a short walk away, and Moorabbin station on the Frankston line needs a connecting bus.

When to go. It is busiest on weekday mornings and evenings and weekend mornings. For a quieter run, aim midweek in the late morning or early afternoon, and give the obedience club training slots a wide berth if your dog is timid.
