Moorabbin Reserve Dog Off Leash Area

Moorabbin Reserve is a neighbourhood off-leash space near Linton Street and Horscroft Place, set within a larger recreation reserve. It is a plain, open, grassy area for a run rather than a destination park, and it is accessible around the clock.

The rules. This is a City of Kingston reserve, so dogs must be under effective voice control at all times off-leash. Put the lead back on when arriving, leaving, or within 20 metres of playgrounds, barbecues or picnic areas, and keep to a lead no longer than 1.5 metres in those buffers. Dogs are banned from the marked no-dog zones, including some sports pitches and playgrounds. Carry waste bags and use them, fines apply.

What is there. A large grassy run with waste bins on site. Some edges of the reserve are bordered but not every section is fully fenced, so check the boundary before you let a bolter off the lead. It turns muddy after rain.

Getting there. Reach it off the Nepean Highway onto Linton Street, with street parking along Linton Street and Horscroft Place. Moorabbin station is a short walk away.

When to go. Weekday mornings, 7 to 9am, and late afternoons, 4 to 6pm, plus Saturday mornings are the busy windows. Midweek early afternoons are the quietest, and best avoided straight after heavy rain.
