Moorabbin Reserve's dog off-leash area sits at the corner of Linton Street and Horscroft Place, inside the larger recreation reserve near Moorabbin station. The run is flat open grass, quick to drain but turning muddy for a day or two after heavy rain, so pack a towel in winter. Waste bins sit on site, water facilities are available for dogs, and the surrounding reserve has been redeveloped with fitness equipment and accessible paths, making it a comfortable outing for older owners too. The off-leash area relies on natural buffers rather than full perimeter fencing, so keep an eye on the Linton Street road edge with a dog who bolts.

Getting there and parking

Turn off the Nepean Highway into Linton Street and park along Linton Street or Horscroft Place. Moorabbin station is a short walk away for anyone arriving by train, and the reserve sits within easy reach of the Nepean Highway for drivers heading along the bayside corridor.

When to go

Expect company from 7 to 9am and 4 to 6pm on weekdays, and on Saturday mornings. Midweek early afternoons are the quietest window. Skip the muddy patch straight after heavy rain and give the ground a day to dry.
