Keryn Place Park Fenced Dog Park

Keryn Place Park Fenced Dog Park is a small, fully enclosed off-leash yard at the end of Keryn Place in Keperra, in Brisbane's north-west. Mature trees shade the whole space and the park stays quiet enough for dogs who find bigger off-leash grounds overwhelming, which is exactly why its regulars keep coming back.

The dog setup

The entire yard is fenced with a double-gate entry, and there is an agility ramp inside for dogs that like a job to do. Owners keep voice control and supervise closely, poop bags are provided, and any dog showing aggression should be removed straight away. The entrance is wheelchair accessible. There is no separate small-dog zone, which is worth knowing if you have a nervous little one, and drinking water is available on site.

Pepsi: no small-dog yard here, so I watch the first five minutes closely. If the big dogs settle, this is one of the calmest parks around.

The vibe

Tuesday nights, Wednesday afternoons and Saturday mornings are the busiest windows, while Sunday nights and Mondays are the quietest. Benches under the trees give owners somewhere to settle, and the residential setting keeps traffic and noise down. It is a good pick if your dog gets overwhelmed at the larger parks nearby.

Getting there and parking

The park is at the end of Keryn Place, Keperra QLD 4053, with street parking along Mungarie Street. Keperra Station is roughly a 15 to 20 minute walk away, and local buses along Samford Road pass nearby if you are coming from the Great Western Super Centre end of the suburb.

Close by with the dogs

For a bigger fenced session, the Keperra Dog Park on Duggan Street runs separate large and small yards, and the William Scott Park Fenced Dog Park is just over the boundary in Arana Hills. The Thomsett Park Fenced Dog Park in Ferny Hills is about five minutes up Samford Road, close to Pepper n Salt Cafe at the Great Western Super Centre.
