Keperra Dog Park

Keperra Dog Park sits on Duggan Street in Brisbane's north-west, a couple of minutes off Samford Road and an easy walk from Keperra train station. It pairs two fully fenced yards with barbecue facilities and picnic seating, so it works as a morning run-around or a longer stay with the family.

The dog setup

There are two separate fenced yards here, one for big dogs and one for small, both with double-gated entries so you can clip the lead off without an escape risk at the gate. Dogs run off-leash inside the fences and go back on the lead as soon as you're in the car park or the surrounding grounds. Max: the grass holds up better than most local parks, but the ground near the water bowls turns to mud after solid rain, so check paws before the drive home.

Weekday mornings and early afternoons are the quiet window. Weekday evenings and early weekend mornings bring the regulars and the bigger crowds, so if your dog prefers space, time it accordingly. Getting there and parking

Turn off Samford Road onto Duggan Street; the car park is free and wheelchair accessible. If you'd rather leave the car at home, Keperra Railway Station is close enough to walk, which is a rare thing for a fenced dog park.

If you want variety across the week, the Keryn Place Park Fenced Dog Park is the other fenced option in Keperra itself, and the Ferny Grove Dog Park is a few minutes up the road. Head east and you'll find the Wittonga Park Fenced Dog Park in The Gap.
