What visitors mention
Ferny Grove Dog Park (also known as Arbor Street Park) is a fully fenced off-leash area on Samford Road, with the practical stuff sorted: separate zones for big and small dogs, an agility course, and free parking right at the gate.
The rules. Dogs must stay under the effective control of a capable handler at all times. Clean up after your dog and use the bins provided. Keep dogs leashed in the car park and on the walk to the fenced area, and remove any dog that's showing aggression or causing a nuisance straight away. Use the section that matches your dog's size, small dog area or large dog area, as signposted.
What's there. The park is fully fenced with separate large-dog and small-dog zones, plenty of shade and established grass, undercover seating for owners, water stations, and a dog agility obstacle course. The car park is free and close to the entrance, and there's a wheelchair-accessible entrance too.
Getting there. Entry is via Arbor Street, off Samford Road, Ferny Grove. It's a short drive, or a moderate walk, from Ferny Grove train station, so it's workable without a car if you don't mind the walk.
Nearby with the dogs. Ferny Grove Tavern on Samford Road has outdoor seating and is worth a stop after a run around. A few local cafes in the Ferny Grove and Arana Hills area also do outdoor tables, though it's worth calling ahead to confirm dogs are welcome on any given day. Overnight stays nearby are limited, confirm pet policy directly if you're booking a motel or pub room on Samford Road.

When to go. Weekday mornings and early afternoons are quietest; Saturday afternoons and weekday evenings draw the biggest crowds. The park is accessible around the clock, so a late, cooler visit works well in summer. Good for dogs that need space to run and a properly fenced boundary to do it in.
