Samford Parklands Fenced Dog Park

Samford Parklands is a fully fenced, 24-hour off-leash dog park on Warwick Lane in Samford Valley, a short drive from Samford Village, and it is one of the better-equipped fenced parks in the Moreton Bay region: separate enclosures for small and large dogs plus an on-site agility course.

The rules

Off-leash does not mean unsupervised: dogs must stay under effective voice control, and owners are expected to remove a dog promptly if it turns unruly or reactive around others. Clean-up is on you, with waste bags and bins provided on site. The secure fencing makes the park safe, but the etiquette rules still apply.

The vibe

Water stations with bowls, shaded seating for owners, picnic tables and benches cover the basics, and the agility gear gives high-energy dogs something beyond flat running. Weekday mornings are the quiet window with the most space to run properly; Saturday mornings and Sunday afternoons draw the biggest crowds, which suits social dogs and not much else. The ground gets muddy in the low-lying sections after rain, so check conditions before heading out in a wet week.

The parklands sit in bushland on the edge of the valley, so wildlife moves through the surrounding reserve, and a bushland walking track nearby makes a good on-lead extension if your dog has energy left after the fenced run. A small skate park close by keeps families with mixed interests happy.

Max: watch the gate area when other dogs are arriving or leaving. That is where most scuffles start, even in a fully fenced park.

Getting there and parking

Free parking sits on site off Warwick Lane, with wheelchair-accessible entrances and pathways. Public transport is limited, so driving is the practical way in. Paved walkways connect through the broader parklands and sport grounds if you want an on-lead warm-up lap before the off-lead session.
