Market Burger

Market Burger is a small, family-run smashed burger shop on Main Street in the middle of Samford Village, and dogs are welcome in its outdoor alley seating. It is an evening venue rather than a lunch stop: the kitchen opens from 4:30pm Tuesday through Sunday and closes on Mondays, which makes it an easy post-walk dinner call in the Samford Valley.

The space is casual and narrow, sitting right off Main Street, so keep leads short and dogs close to the table while foot traffic passes. There is no listed water bowl or treat station, so bring your own water on warm evenings.

The menu is built around handmade smashed patties, with a genuinely good gluten-free bun option, sweet potato fries and a rotating line-up of craft beer on tap and in cans, including an alcoholic ginger beer that gets regular mentions. Service runs from 4:30pm to about 7:30 or 8pm depending on the night, so it suits an early dinner more than a late one.

Max: Stick close to the alley seating and keep your dog on a short lead. It is a narrow space right off Main Street, so it pays to be tidy about foot traffic.

Close by with the dogs

John Scott Park is across the road with shaded grass, BBQs and a playground, dogs on-leash but note it is not a fenced off-leash park. For a proper run first, the Samford Parklands Fenced Dog Park a short drive away has separate size areas and a water station, and the Ironbark Gully Loop at Ferny Hills works as a bushwalk on the way into the village.
