Sienna Wood Fenced Dog Park

The Sienna Wood Fenced Dog Park sits on Nautilus Way in Hilbert, immediately next to Shipwreck Park, and its drawcard is simple: a secure, always-open off-leash space with separate fenced zones for large and small dogs, so size mismatches and road access stop being worries.

The dog setup

There are two separate, fully fenced enclosures, one for large dogs and one for small, both grassed and fitted with play and training equipment: hoops, steps, tunnels and climbing obstacles. Water taps and bowls sit inside each zone, with benches and shade, and poop bags and bins are provided.

The park is open 24 hours. Off-leash applies only inside the fences; on the surrounding paths and in Shipwreck Park itself, City of Armadale dog rules mean leads stay on. Handlers must stay inside with their dog, carry a lead, and leash up and leave if a dog shows aggression. Close both gates behind you every time.

Max: a double-gate system only works if every handler checks both leaves. Do not assume the person before you latched it properly.

The vibe

This is an estate park with a family feel, and Saturday mornings and afternoons are the busiest slots because Shipwreck Park's playground, water play and flying fox draw crowds and the dog park fills in tandem. The enclosures are open and exposed, so summer is an early-morning or evening game with extra water, even with taps on hand. Weekday mornings and early afternoons are quieter and better if your dog wants the agility gear to itself.

Getting there

Free dedicated and street parking runs alongside the precinct, and driving is the practical option since the nearest station at Armadale still needs a bus connection. Public toilets, BBQs and picnic shelters are a short walk away in Shipwreck Park.
