Hadspen Fenced Dog Park is a fully fenced, off-leash grassy run on Foote Street, part of the larger Hadspen Lions Park Reserve on the Meander Riverbank, about 15 minutes from Launceston. It is small and local rather than a destination park, but the double-gated entry and water tap make it a safe, easy stop for a proper off-leash run.
The rules. Dogs need to be under effective voice control even inside the fenced area. Owners are expected to pick up after their dogs, and the reserve sits within Meander Valley Council's jurisdiction. The fence line runs close to the riverbank in places, so keep an eye on dogs that like to explore edges.
What's there. A double-gated entry system, a water tap with a bowl, and a maintained grassy area for running. The wider Lions Park Reserve around the fenced section adds a playground, BBQ areas and gravelly river beach access, useful if you are making a stop of it rather than a quick lap.
Getting there. The park is at 30 Foote Street, off Main Street in Hadspen. There is a larger car park at the adjacent boat ramp, so parking is not usually an issue even when the fenced area itself is busy.

Nearby with the dogs. Discovery Parks - Hadspen is close by and offers pet-friendly cabins if you want to base yourselves in Hadspen. Dog-friendly cafes are thin on the ground right in Hadspen; Prospect Vale and central Launceston have more options a short drive away.
Weekend mornings and late weekday afternoons bring the most regulars, so if your dog is shy around others, aim for a weekday mid-morning or mid-afternoon lap instead.
