Summerhill Park Dog Off Leash Area(Glen Iris)

Summerhill Park is a leafy neighbourhood reserve around Prosper Parade in Glen Iris, with an off-leash area on wide, mostly flat grass under mature shade trees. It is a relaxed local run used mainly by regulars rather than a crowd-drawing destination.

The rules. You must carry a lead and leash your dog entering and leaving the park. Keep dogs on-leash near the playground, BBQ areas, and any active sporting event, and under effective voice and visual control on the off-leash grass. Picking up after your dog is required, and bins are provided.

What is there. Open grassy space with shade trees, park seating, and dog waste bins with bags. A water bowl or tap is usually accessible, and public toilets are typically within the wider park precinct. The area is unfenced, so recall matters.

Getting there. Street parking is generally easy along Prosper Parade, Montana Street, or Summerhill Road. Gardiner Station on the Glen Waverley line is roughly a 15 to 20 minute walk, with local bus routes also serving the area, plan a trip via Public Transport Victoria.

When to go. Busiest 7am to 9am and again from about 3:30pm to 6pm on weekdays. For a quieter run, aim for a mid-week evening or a Sunday afternoon.
