Fagan Park's fenced dog park sits inside the 55-hectare grounds at 38-48 Arcadia Road, Galston. It is a large, fully fenced, off-leash space built for dogs that need room to run hard and owners who want secure boundaries.

The rules. Open 24/7 except Christmas Day, when the wider park shuts entirely. Dogs must stay leashed outside the fenced area and be supervised by a competent person at all times. Poo bags and bins are provided - cleanup is strictly enforced. Aggressive behaviour toward dogs or people is not tolerated.

What is there. Double-gated entries, a tap with a water bowl, poo bag dispensers, and seating for owners. The space is expansive and suited to ball throwing. Public toilets, picnic tables, and playgrounds sit in the broader park. Owner seating is unshaded.

Getting there. Aim for the southern car park off Arcadia Road - roughly 300 metres to the dog park. Paid parking is $7 per day via ticket machine. Public transport is poor; buses reach nearby suburbs only, so a car or rideshare is the practical option.

Weekdays are quiet and better if you are working on recall or have a dog that needs space. Save the busy weekend mornings for confident, social dogs.

Go early on weekends or any time on weekdays for the calmest experience. Pack towels and boots after rain - the ground turns muddy quickly.
