Pepi's Land is a fully fenced, 24/7 off-leash reserve on the edge of Emerald's main street, with a steep hill that turns a walk into a proper workout for both ends of the lead. The fencing and round-the-clock access make it one of the more reliable off-leash options in the Dandenong Ranges.
The rules. Off-leash access runs 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and the reserve is fully enclosed. Dogs still need to be under effective voice control even with the fence, and owners are expected to clean up after their dogs, with waste bins provided near the top of the hill.
What's there. A pavilion, a playground, and netball courts sit on site, though dogs should be kept off the sporting surfaces. Walking and cycling tracks run through the reserve. Water taps on site can be unreliable, so bring your own water bottle and bowl, plus your own waste bags as backup.
Getting there. The park is at 16 Beaconsfield-Emerald Road, Emerald, with a large gravel car park at the entrance. It's an easy walk from Emerald's main street. The PTV 695 bus, which runs between Pakenham and Gembrook, passes through the township if you're relying on public transport.
Watch-outs. The hill is genuinely steep, so it's a bigger ask for older dogs or less mobile owners than the flat car park suggests. Sunday mornings, Friday mornings, and Saturday nights tend to draw the biggest crowds; Monday and Thursday evenings are quieter if you want the run of the place.

Nearby with the dogs. Several cafes on Emerald's main street allow dogs in their outdoor seating, and Nobelius Heritage Park and Emerald Lake Park are close by for an on-leash walk afterwards.
