Log Cabin Ranch

Log Cabin Ranch is a 10-acre working property at 55-57 Rankins Road, Monbulk, in the Dandenong Ranges, set up for weddings, school camps, retreats and bunkhouse group stays. Dogs can come along for weekend bookings and even wedding ceremonies, provided the arrangement is made with management first.

Dogs are welcome around the property and bunkhouse area by prior arrangement, but they are not permitted in the glamping tents, which sit alongside resident farm animals. There is no published pet fee or size limit, so confirm the details directly when you book rather than assuming.

Bring your own bowls, food and bedding, because this is a working rural property rather than a serviced pet stay. Keep dogs on lead around the stables and paddocks, and be honest about whether a reactive dog will cope with livestock, other guests' dogs and event crowds.

Max: barn weddings mean confetti, canapés on the ground and a donkey named Reece to meet. On lead the whole time, but a very good weekend.

The place

The property packs a barn, stables, an outdoor BBQ area and bunkhouse accommodation for up to 70 guests, with a DIY style that suits elopements and group weekends. Glamping tents for adults sit separately on the site.

Getting there and out with the dog

The ranch is best reached by car with free on-site parking, and Monbulk township is minutes away for supplies. For exercise, the Old Olinda Golf Course Dog Off Leash Area is a short drive up Olinda-Monbulk Road, and the on-lead Mathias Walking Track covers a proper forest walk.
