Silas Street Reserve Fenced Dog Park, on the corner of George Street and Silas Street in East Fremantle, has been closed since February 2025 after bonded asbestos was detected on site, and it remains closed with no confirmed reopening date.

Current status. The Town of East Fremantle fenced off the site and is working with landowner Main Roads WA on remediation. As of the most recent council update there is no confirmed timeline for reopening, so do not plan a visit here without checking the Town of East Fremantle website first.

Where to go instead. The council has pointed dog owners to the East Fremantle Community Park dog exercise area at East Fremantle Oval as the designated alternative, though note dogs must be leashed there on WAFL match days.

Confirm at booking, or rather, confirm before you drive over. A closed dog park with no fixed reopening date is not worth a special trip, check the council's news page first.

Skip this one for now and use East Fremantle Community Park's fenced dog area instead until an official reopening is announced.
