GESHA Cafe Fremantle

GESHA Coffee Co on Queen Victoria Street is a licensed Fremantle cafe known for its own house-roasted coffee and a solid breakfast and lunch menu. It is a long-standing dog-friendly spot, with alfresco seating set up for dogs and a steady stream of locals, cyclists and families through the door.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome in the alfresco seating out the front of the shop, not inside the dining room. Water bowls are often put out for dogs here, which makes it a more reliable stop than most, though it is still worth carrying your own in case. Keep your dog leashed and clear of the footpath traffic along Queen Victoria Street.

Worth knowing

The coffee is their own roast and the breakfast pulls good reviews, with the corn fritters the regular pick. There is also a gift shop attached, and bike racks out the front suit the cyclists who ride through. The vibe is lively and trendy, so expect a busy footpath on weekend mornings; hours run 6:30am to 3pm weekdays and to 2:30pm weekends.

Getting there and parking

Find it at 59B Queen Victoria Street on the edge of central Fremantle. Nearby street parking includes short-stay zones, with Wilson Parking on Henderson Street and the Fremantle Oval car parks the close paid options. The train station is a short walk away.

Close by with the dogs

The Fremantle Markets are around ten minutes on foot, and the Esplanade Reserve is a reasonable walk for an on-lead run. For an off-lead beach session, the South Beach dog off-leash area is a short drive south, with the South Beach Cafe handy for a post-walk table. Broody Hen is another dog-welcoming coffee stop in town.
