Leisure and Bean

Leisure and Bean is the cafe attached to the Fremantle Leisure Centre on Shuffrey Street, and its best feature for dog owners is the grab-and-go window that opens straight onto the street: you can order, collect and settle at an outdoor table without ever leaving your dog tied out of sight. Run by experienced owners who previously ran Little Stove, it has quickly built a name for its coffee.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome in the outdoor seating around the cafe rather than the main building. Staff are pet-friendly and water is usually arranged on request, but a travel bowl covers the busy swim-school periods. The street-side window means a well-behaved dog can wait in shade while the order lands.

The menu

Coffee leads the reviews, backed by fresh banana bread, brownies, bagels, toasties and salads. Hours run daily through the mornings into early afternoon, around 7am to 2pm, which makes it a natural post-walk or post-swim stop rather than a dinner option.

Getting there and parking

The address is 10 Shuffrey Street, with ample parking in the Leisure Centre car park and direct access off Shuffrey Street. That combination of easy parking and street-side service makes it one of the simplest coffee stops in Fremantle to fold into a dog walk.

Close by with the dogs

The green spaces around Fremantle Park give a proper leg-stretch a few minutes away, and central Fremantle is an easy walk on for more wandering. If you are building a cafe circuit, GESHA Cafe and Broody Hen Coffee Shop are both local favourites, and Clancy's Fish Pub is the classic dog-friendly lunch stop.
