Bungarribee Park Fenced Dog Park

Bungarribee Park Fenced Dog Park, known locally as Warrigal Run, is one of the biggest fenced off-leash spaces in Sydney, sitting inside the Western Sydney Parklands on Doonside Road. Rolling grassy hills, double-gated enclosures and separate small and large dog sections give it a scale most suburban dog parks cannot match.

The dog run

The enclosures are fully fenced with double gates, split for small and large dogs, and dotted with water stations so you are not hauling a bowl on hot days. Dogs stay on lead until you are through the gate and go straight back on lead when you exit.

The Greater Sydney Parklands rules are explicit: handlers must be 16 or over, no more than four dogs per person, dogs in season and declared dangerous dogs are banned, and digging is discouraged. Bags and bins are provided, but carry a spare.

The vibe

This is a social park with a regular crowd, and its size is the safety valve: even on a busy day there is room to peel off into a quieter corner. Weekends and the weekday 4 to 5pm window draw the biggest packs, so shy or reactive dogs do better on weekday mornings.

Max: proper hills to sprint, a small dog side that actually gets used, and a coffee van close enough that my human stops complaining about the drive.

Getting there and parking

The park is on Doonside Road between the Great Western Highway and Richmond Road, with a large free car park beside the enclosures. Doonside Station is the nearest train stop, roughly a 20 to 30 minute walk away. The park runs sunrise to sunset.

Make a day of it

Around the fences there are picnic tables, shade and electric BBQs, plus a playground nearby for the kids. Caffeine Culture Cafe in Nurragingy Reserve takes dogs in the outdoor seating, and The Old Boy in Blacktown is a dog-welcoming neighbourhood stop.
