Sharon Reserve off Sharon Street is a quiet residential Doncaster reserve built around a fenced sports field, set in landscaped grounds. The fenced oval is the draw, giving an active dog an enclosed space to run.

The rules. Dogs are off-leash on the fenced sportsground under effective control, but must be on-lead in the surrounding landscaped gardens and playground, and kept 15 metres clear of children's play equipment and BBQ areas. Check the local club schedule, as the field is a sports ground and off-lead use does not apply during organised sport. Clean up and use the bins; confirm current lead zones against Manningham Council signage.

What is there. The enclosed oval, a circuit path around the reserve, a pavilion, BBQ area, shaded tables and a playground. There is no permanent dog water tap, so bring your own water and bowl.

Getting there. Sharon Street, Doncaster, reached via Manningham Road or Doncaster Road, with free street parking around the reserve. Buses run along the nearby main roads.

When to go. Weekday mid-mornings and early afternoons are quietest; early mornings, late afternoons and weekend mornings are busiest. School hours are a good window if your dog prefers a calmer space. Good for active dogs that benefit from the fenced oval.
