Park Avenue Reserve off Park Avenue is a Doncaster suburban reserve sitting alongside the Koonung Creek Linear Park, with open grass and direct access to the creek trail. It is a convenient local off-leash spot, handy for a run plus a longer walk on the trail.

The rules. Dogs are off-leash on the open area under effective control, but must be on-lead within 15 metres of BBQs and playgrounds and during organised sport or training. The reserve is not fully fenced and sits near the road and the busy Koonung Creek trail, so reliable recall is important. Bags are provided and clean-up is mandatory. Confirm current lead zones against Manningham Council signage.

What is there. An on-site car park, a pavilion, public toilets, a children's playground (on-lead) and direct access to the shared Koonung Creek walking trail.

Getting there. Park Avenue, just off Doncaster Road, with free off-street parking. The reserve is near the Doncaster Park and Ride for bus access, and is reachable on foot or bike via the Koonung Creek Trail.

Watch-outs. The adjoining Koonung Creek trail carries cyclists; keep dogs under control when passing.

When to go. Weekday afternoons and early afternoons on weekends are quietest; weekday mornings and evenings plus weekend mornings are busiest with local walkers. Good for a quick local run paired with a trail walk.
