Larnoo Reserve Dog Off Leash Area

Larnoo Reserve on Larnoo Drive is a partly fenced suburban reserve in Doncaster East built around a sports ground, and for dog owners it works as a short, contained off-leash option rather than a destination run. The neighbourhood setting means the crowd is mostly regulars from the surrounding streets, with weekend mornings drawing the busiest turnout.

The dog setup

Off-lead access is on the fenced sports ground under effective control, and only when organised matches or training are not on. When the oval is in use it reverts to sport, so time your visit around the fixture list. Manningham's standard conditions cover the rest of the reserve: leads on within 15 metres of the playground and BBQ areas, on the car park and on the paths leading in and out, and waste picked up immediately. There is no noted drinking tap for dogs, so bring your own water.

Getting there and parking

The reserve sits at 23-25 Larnoo Drive in a residential pocket, with street parking on Larnoo Drive itself. The Pines Shopping Centre and the Doncaster shops are both a short drive away, which is useful for combining a run with a pet-supplies stop or a coffee. Facilities on site are the fenced oval, a playground that is an on-lead zone, a pavilion, a shelter with BBQ, benches and bins.

When to go

Weekend mornings are the busiest window with locals; weekday daytime is quieter. Avoid the oval during weekday-evening training sessions and weekend games, when it is off the menu for dogs. With little shade on the oval itself, save the open run for the cooler parts of the day in summer.
